Well pixies, right after the joyous whirlwind of winter break comes a stressful month full of tests and projects. Yessiree we have now entered the dreaded…. exam season *ominous music*
Well maybe it’s only me.
After I get through the next couple weeks, exam month is over and it’s on to second semester (thank goodness at that too!)
That being said, that probably means I’ll be disappearing for the next little while. At least until my exams have ended. 🙂
Gandalf the Grey has definitely got it right. The struggle.
(Props to any of you guys that have read Lord of the Rings! A really long but good read 🙂
I’m a musician, so naturally we’ve been playing Disney music in music class. It’s actually a medley that integrates all the Disney greats. As a result, I haven’t been able to get it out of my head as of late. Thus, if any of you are studying late (like me) for your exams, or just any test of any kind – we all know how stressful those can be -, cool your head down with a bit of relaxing music.
I’ve been digging this calming collection of Disney piano covers. 🙂
My personal favourites are Reflection from Mulan, Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas, Can You Feel The Love Tonight from the Lion King, and Go the Distance by Hercules. Legit, I’ve been listening to Can You Feel The Love Tonight and Go the Distance nonstop for at least a week.
I think I may or may not have a problem. xD
Just because I’ve been in a huge rush with projects and tests doesn’t mean I’ve been neglecting my writing! I’ve decided that I really don’t have enough time to enter the Fanfic competition, but I’ve still be writing now and then just for the fun of it. I have lots of new ideas from the competition though! 😀
I’ve decided to tease a bit of the second chapter of Talented right now:
Talented — Chapter 2
“It was nice of her to give me a discount,” Faith beamed at her new hairstyle, admiring the lightened look of it. Schelly had definitely breathed new life into her old and boring locks.
“Told you she was the best,” Melody replied, although she seemed withdrawn from the conversation. She closed her eyes.
“Melody?” Faith waved her hand in front of her friend’s face. Her violet eyes popped open in surprise.
“Uh, yes? What is it?” Melody smiled, but it was obvious her heart wasn’t into it. Faith wondered what had bothered her friend. “Sorry I’m just feeling a little tired,” Melody said quickly, closing off the topic.
“Can I ask you something?” Faith took out her leaf journal from her bottomless pouch, deciding to make like a water talent and go with the flow.
“Uh yeah anything.”
“Can you tell me about Membership?”
Melody’s eyes widened. She glanced around hurriedly, as if looking for other pixies floating around. But it was just before dinner at the Tearoom and most fairies had already left in sheer anticipation.
“H-how did you hear about already?” A frantic whisper.
“Uh, I went to Summit Style and the shop owner there mentioned it.” Faith stuttered, slightly taken aback by Melody’s reaction.
Her friend sighed. “You shouldn’t have gone there. There’s nothing there for Community fairies and the Members will just snob you,” she said.
“All of them?”
“Well, I don’t really know any but all the ones I’ve met seem really snobbish!” Melody replied defensively.
“You shouldn’t say that,” Faith replied, ever the optimist. “I bet some of them are really nice!”
“Right,” Melody snorted. “If you count a hawk as nice I guess you could say that.”
“I really just want to know what it’s about though,” Faith persisted.
Her friend sighed. “Alright. It’s just — it’s Pixie Hollow’s most exclusive club.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, nobody but the Members know how to gain access. They keep it all hushed up, if you know what I mean.” Melody raised her eyebrows dramatically to signify that she should keep this information to herself.
“Word is,” she said, her voice low. “Members have to pay a substantial price to be admitted. I suppose it’s worth it, but there’s a lot of debate as to what that price would be among us Community Fairies.”
“What — you don’t know?” Faith stared at her friend, a little shocked.
Melody shook her head. “Apparently it’s something you can do at any moment in your pixie life here, but we can’t figure out what. I guess it’s some sort of test.”
Melody laughed bitterly, not looking at all like the laughing girl with wild black and purple curls from that morning. Faith was surprised to see how much her new friend’s features had contorted at the mention of Membership.
“It must be a Great Divide,” Faith thought sadly.

Good luck to the rest of you guys who, like me, are going through exam pains. Don’t worry — we’ll all get through it! 😀
